Air quality is a key factor underlying the health outcomes of the covid pandemic. During the continent lockdowns beginning in April air pollution in Latin American cities has fallen dramatically, with lower traffic on the road resulting in space given over to bike lanes, pedestrians and public transport. To keep this momentum we propose a network of air quality monitoring stations and community embedded actions which prepare the ground for public spaces to densify, cut traffic and promote a set of behaviours that improve health and reduce the emissions causing climate change
