Architecture Internship in Quito, Ecuador

Ese Colectivo is an architecture studio based in Quito, Ecuador. We run an internship for architecture students and recent graduates who want to work on real projects inside a practicing studio — and live where they work.

Interns join us in the Casa: a house we share with two other architecture studios, where design, construction and everyday life happen under one roof. The program includes residence in “El Zoológico” for the length of the internship.

What you'll work on

Depending on the studio's active projects during your stay, you may take part in:

• Architectural design and drawing

• Construction administration and site work

• Competition entries

• Small-scale and self-build projects

• Project documentation and publications

Where you'll live — EL ZOOLÓGICO

The Casa is a shared live-work house in Quito, occupied by three architecture studios. Living here means being surrounded by three teams of architects and their work every day. The internship and the place are the same thing.

Who can apply

The program is open to architecture students and recent graduates from anywhere. To apply, the only thing you need to send us is your portfolio.

When

The internship takes place within the August–December 2026 period. Exact start and end dates are arranged individually with the selected candidate (for example, September to December). We take one intern per cohort.

Shortlisted candidates are invited to a video call, where we go over the program in detail and answer any questions. From there, we select one intern.
